Major Accountabilities:
- Providing periodic Departmental Summary report to HBE - CEO on project status

Managing Portfolio Management System from R & D end to have successful Launch of any Projects related to Product Development & Packaging Development

Developing Sensory & Product Guidance team to have quick & effective way of Product Judgment & Critical Decision Making
-
Aligning with Marketing team for New Product Opportunities / Market Trends / Market Research & Competitor Analysis to explore HB Business in all horizons
-
Conducting product validation of new and existing products by carrying out microbiological, physical and chemical analysis to agree and sign off the product shelf life
-
Preparing accurate & Product specifications for new and existing products
-
Implementation R & D Process & System with alignment of Quality Management Systems i.e. ISO Standards
-
Issuing detailed Guide to Production for new and existing products, where necessary provide assistance in personnel training i.e. product quality attributes
-
Preparing accurate and realistic annual budget costing for new and existing products and monitor implementation accordingly
-
Liaison with relevant company divisions i.e. Production, Supply chain, Technical, Quality with a view to evaluate new and alternative suppliers for existing ingredients
-
Preparing ingredient declaration / Health Claims for new and existing products and ensure compliance to Regulation standards
-
Developing R & D / Application laboratory & Managing Day-to-Day trials to ensure activities are matched with resource
-
Ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of all application laboratory is carried out and that breakdown are effectively managed to eliminate cancellation of trials

Conducting regular internal audits to validate compliance to specification and guide to productions
-
Liaison with relevant Factory Manager to ensure effective implementation of production trials, plant or ingredient issues are resolved efficiently in a timely manner
-
Co-ordinating with factory QA department on a broad range of R & D activities such as trial product release, analysis of samples, sharing of laboratory facilities and resources, quality investigations, quality systems, product specification issues, sensory evaluations, and attendance at monthly factory quality reviews

Liaison directly with ingredient suppliers to meet project objectives

Ensuring all raw materials used comply with the Regulation standards and meet the Company objectives of supplying consistently high quality products to the consumer

Supervising and development of R & D staffs
-
Conducting projects in line with product development manual and SOP’s
-
Presenting samples to the relevant company divisions to obtain product approval, get feedback, review and implement agreed actions
-
Maintaining awareness of innovation and technological developments within the food industry and recommend applications
-
Conducting, reviewing and implementing risk assessments within the R & D department
-
Job Purpose : To develop new products and improve existing products by managing all product development processes, personnel and resources so that technically and commercially viable products are efficiently and effectively launched into the market place.
