Watson House Complex Manager, President’s Residence (50008377 )

Reports to: Director, Office of the President
Purpose: The holder of this position carries the responsibility for oversight and efficient operation of the Watson House Complex inclusive of Trustees House, Watson Hall and gardens. Works closely with President’s Office to co-ordinate events and dinners in Watson House, Watson Hall and gardens.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Interfaces with the President’s Office with respect to the President’s calendar.
• Interfaces with the President and Spouse on a weekly basis to plan each week’s events, dinners and daily requirements.
• Is responsible for supervising all household staff ensuring the quality of their work, time management, working hours and transportation after hours, as needed.
• Supervises the maintenance of the Watson House complex and interfaces with AUC Housing on a bi-monthly basis to ensure the house is kept in perfect condition.
• Responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of all AUC owned items in the Watson House complex.
• Oversees ordering of required supplies for the Watson House complex.
• Manages accounts for President’s personal expenses (personal groceries, outsourced cleaning and laundry) and for AUC incurred expenses to be submitted to the President’s Office.
• Manages transportation issues related to the complex.
• Supervises cleaning staff from AUC Housing (thrice weekly) in the cleaning of the downstairs, formal area of Watson House and the hallway leading to Watson Hall.
• Supervises cleaning of Watson Hall by cleaning staff from AUC.
• Supervises gardeners and outside cleaning staff to ensure gardens and garden furniture is maintained and available at all times.
• Provide guidance current staff of personal hygiene and grooming, appropriate attire, in-house vocational training, and participation in other support service activities.
• Periodic building inspections checking for any fire safety hazards or violations and all systems related to fire prevention (centralized fire alarm panel, sprinkler system, smoke detectors and fire extinguishers).
• Oversees training of staff, as necessary, to improve the standard of their work.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
