Prepare, key in, edit and proofread correspondence, application forms, brochures, publications, reports and related material from shorthand, handwritten copy using computers.
Open and distribute incoming regular and electronic mail and other material and co-ordinate the flow of information internally with other departments and externally with clients and/or developers.
May order office supplies, inventory, and office equipment and arrange for servicing in the case of major repairs.
Respond to telephone, in person or electronic enquiries and/or relay telephone calls and messages.
Set up and maintain manual and computerized information filing systems.
Label files according to retention and disposal schedules and prepare files for disposal.
May compile data, statistics and other information and may conduct research.
May supervise and train other staff in procedures and in use of current software.
May attend conferences.
Provide general information to clients.
To be amiable, professional and approachable at all times.
Any other duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post.
