The purpose of the Business Analyst position is to work with key Business Stakeholders and IT to carry out the technology strategies and vision by participating in various projects and small initiatives. The Business Analysts are responsible for the creation and approval of various project deliverable such as: Project Scope, Business requirements, As Is/To Be process flow documents, test plan documents and results. They also are responsible to ensure that readiness planning is in place and evaluate the effectiveness and risks of change. As a Business Analyst your role is instrumental in the facilitating business involvement, decision-making, and coordination of business resources to deliver and implement high quality projects and prepare business area for changes impacting their areas.
Main Responsibilities of the Business Analyst
• Building open & trusted client relationship.
• Reading and facilitating agile workshops to effectively gather requirements.
• Recommending a preferred approach to planning assignments and structuring deliverables..
• Preparing external customer proposals, including production of viable estimates.
• Leading assignment teams as required, including mentoring less experienced team members and leading by example in both business and process aspects of the job.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and work with stakeholders to define and document project scope
- Facilitate and document As Is/To Be process flows and gap analysis of business process
- Elicit, analyze and document clear concise, detailed business requirements
- Partner with Business System Analysts to ensure traceability of business requirements to technical requirements
- Ensure technical requirements and design meet and support the business needs
- Work closely with Quality Assurance team for project testing strategy and plans
- Plan, coordinate and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solution delivered meets business needs
- Provide input for business readiness plans, including communication, and training
- Develop and lead the post install production validation
- Triage and document incoming incidents to ensure proper incident priority are assessed
- Provide communication and insight to Ops leaders and stakeholder on impacts of the work and status of the resolution as it moves through the process
- Monitor and control incidents to ensure SLAs are met and issues are resolved, or accurately documented, through risk assessments, for business prioritization
- Perform and publish preemptive trend analysis on incidents
• Working on client sites and face to face with customers
• Writing functional requirements to meet client specification
• Writing use cases to meet functional requirements
• Transfer of business knowledge and expertise to other employees
• Building good working relationships with customers
• Resolving client issues and queries concerning business functionality requirements
• Investigation and resolution of business systems issues
• Some testing of solution delivery
• Some presales activities
