The role of the BA spans the Product lifecycle from the Ideation stage through to Development and Support, with an emphasis on requirements capture and modeling in support of the Development and QA stages. The ideal Business Analyst candidate would be able to adapt their skill sets readily to gain in-depth knowledge of systems capabilities, model products requirements through the capture of user stories/use cases and diagramming, assess product priorities and dependencies based on market and business needs, and help in managing the product backlog.
The BA needs to be comfortable with multi-tasking and changing gears because there will be a constant flow of activity spanning Ideation through Development and Support, and depending up business priorities they may need to do on-demand support with for supporting projects.
