Workforce Improvement and Skill Enhancement Project (WISE)
USAID Funded Project
Management & Training Corporation (MTC), a US-based private company with 35 years of
experience in workforce development and training, is seeking an Egyptian national for a position on the USAID-funded Workforce Improvement and Skill Enhancement (WISE) project based in Cairo, Egypt.
Within the capacity building activities of the WISE project, WISE plans to implement a customized improvement program and advisory services with local private medium and large enterprises within the following five industrial sectors:
- Food processing
- Ready-made garments
- Textiles
- Furniture (woodworking)
- Tourism
WISE is currently seeking subject matter experts in these five sectors for short-term consultancies in productivity improvement program.
Position Summary:
The Productivity Improvement Subject Matter Experts will lead enterprises to apply the knowledge of their own environment, and develop their capacity to identify problems and barriers to productivity. The Subject Matter Experts will lead enterprises in development of productivity improvement plans to improve productivity.
This is a short-term consultancy position. It is anticipated that this assignment will require
approximately 35 working days over a four-month period.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop assessment tools to be used in identifying obstacles of productivity within participating enterprises
- Use the assessment tools in conducting productivity assessments
- Develop and measure baseline, productivity gap analysis and agree on productivity improvement plans and targets with enterprise management
- Initiate agreed upon in-factory training and advisory on performance improvement plans
- Review, measure and monitor changes in the enterprise performance and ensure process
standardization
- Develop new concepts and techniques to improve workflow, information and knowledge management within sector enterprises
- Develop a sector-based analysis report on common challenges enterprises are facing,
opportunities to introduce sector-based solutions, and final recommendations
