1. Leads a complex supply chain category; including data and industry analysis; reports results to / business executives.
2. Leads a complex, international, cross-functional team.
3. Meets with Stakeholder business executives to discuss impact of supply chain strategic development on overall business and to develop forward-thinking supply chain strategies; influences the industry or marketplace for complex categories; engages with market leaders.
4. Develops and utilizes supply chain, business, and financial modeling tools.
5. Leads complex Supplier selection Activities. Drives supply base optimization for complex categories. Negotiates and completes contracts with highly complex and critical
suppliers.
6. Responsible for day-to-day operations of the most complex, long-term suppliers. Partners with suppliers in forward-thinking strategic development and relationship building.
7. Develops strategies for risk mitigation, business continuity, cost management and operations improvement. Innovates complex business models, drives associated strategies and influences the marketplace.
8. Identifies complex or emerging contract risk areas. Negotiates acceptable contracting outcomes using custom solutions. Advises executive level business leaders on all
contract risk areas.
9. Influences a particular supply category across multiple business units.
10. Plans sourcing of materials and services to support manufacturing and operations and companywide strategic plans.
11. Heavy market analysis, cost modeling, financial risk management / hedging, forecasting/planning for global sources, growing seasons, and variables affecting future costs including materials, fuel, demand, substitutes, compliments/alternate uses, etc
12. Creates and complies with executing materials strategy in accordance with policies and procedures.
13. Directs contracts across supply base to optimize cost, volumes and supply commitments both long term planning and short term in response to material requirements established by manufacturing operations.
14. Designs, creates, strategically sources and Implements agreements for global and local procurement of goods and services.
15. Maintains supplier relationships to ensure we obtain best quality, delivery and price for goods and services.
16. Identifies and executes purchasing initiatives and others for cost improvement, material reduction, and quality.
17. Drives 5% productivity programs, supplier relationship measurement and management.
18. Challenges and optimizes competitive benchmarks with R&D, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, HR, etc.
