Senior Producer

The Senior Producer is responsible for the creative development, production, content quality of Al Youm show, constructing fresh, informative, creative, compelling shows, ensuring balanced content consist with the mission goals of the company. broadcasting standards. 
The primary duties and Responsibilities of the 
Senior Producer include, but are not limited to:
- Determining and maintaining the creative vision and look and feel of programs aligned with the departments’ vision.
- Overseeing the writing and producing of Al Youm show.
- Leading and producing new and innovative productions.
- Mentoring and serving as a resource to junior members of the staff.
- Demonstrating strong news judgment;
- ensuring journalistic standards of fairness, accuracy and relevancy.
- Organizing and stimulating the creative process and tracking performance of assigned news team.
- Coordinating with Executive Producer.
- Supervising Producer and other Senior Producers and Assignment Editors on selecting timely news, features, live guests.
- Preparing rundown for Al Youm show and any special event coverage.
participating in editorial meetings.
- understanding the major stories of the day and their relationship to the company mission and viewers.
- Reviewing all scripts for assigned show to ensure that they adhere to broadcast standards.
- Obtaining legal and editorial clearances from Executive Producer and Supervising Producer.
Overseeing all quality assurances and live content material.
- Ensuring that all additional production details are completed, including graphics, chyrons, music selection, etc.
- Providing Control Room with critical information regarding the timing, content and execution of live shots while program is on-air.
- Maintaining composure in the control room.
Following commands of Supervising Producer in the control room when breaking news is on the air.
- Pursuing breaking news and assisting Assignment Desk and other newscast producers during coverage of breaking news.
Remaining creative.
- Conducting final review of show content.
- Ensuring that assigned programs are MOS active fifteen minutes prior to air time.
- Supervising performance and development of assigned broadcast team members; this may include anchors, producers, writers, associate producers and production assistants.
- Providing appropriate and timely on-going performance feedback to assigned team members.
- Determining show vision and showcase major stories.
- Assigning and editing stories to writers on the team.
- Contributing story ideas on a daily, weekly and long-range basis.
