• Supports strategic leadership and management within the Fleet department.
• Monitors and executes strategies that support cost/service and continuous improvements.
• Lead the Fleet department towards developing and implementing operating standards, metrics, processes and practices that align with company objectives.
• Provides recommendations on transportation innovations that will improve performance.
• Monitors, analyzes and provides feedback on fleet KPIs to meet or exceed service performance measurements.
• Develop annual fleet budget. Improves cost and service performance through logistics activities that include all aspects of managing a local private fleet. Monitors/controls costs, oversees transportation planning with coordination of the Customer Service department, order processing for other BU and delivery execution.
• Monitors daily dispatch operations to support the sales operation and the achievement of company objectives. Ensures driver compliance and expectations working with local driver leasing company. Reports to the driver leasing company any driver discipline problems or issues that may arise. Ensures completion of accident processing, claims, investigation, and corporate reporting. Participates in driver safety meetings.
• Negotiate contracts terms with contractors for any extra fleet needed as required.
• Oversees license renewal for the department.
• Oversees the maintenance workshop operations and develop yearly maintenance plan for the fleet.
• Provides support on interpretations and business process solutions to ensure regulatory and legal compliance on all local rules/regulations and laws.
• On a rotating basis, provides after hours support to the distribution centers, drivers or stores regarding any urgent issues.
